DESCRIPTION ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER

 

The animal control officer (appointed by the First Selectman) is responsible for administering and enforcing laws relating to animals.   The primary focus is on dog licensing and control, but State statutes now include areas of concern about all animals, particularly regarding rabies control.
